Hamta Pass sits at an altitude of 14,270ft on the Pir Panjal range in the Himalayas. It is a small corridor between Lahaul’s Chandra Valley and the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is known as Himachal’s Valley of Flowers. The landscape is strikingly like that of Valley of Flowers – a green narrow valley protected by snow-covered mountains but there’s a bonus here.
When you get onto the other side of the Hampta Pass, you’ll be in awe looking at the stark contrast from what you just left behind. The landscape that stretches in front of you is Spiti Valley, known for its barren stretches, rugged terrain and forget-me-not blue skies.
Tso Chigma or Chandra Taal (meaning the Lake of the Moon), or Chandra Tal is a lake in the Lahaul part of the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 4300 meters, Chandratal offers the most splendid views of the Spiti region.
BRIEF ITINERARY
Day:0
Depart from Delhi by 7 PM
- Departure from DELHI in an A/C Overnight Journey
Witness the low – lying hills give way to the rising mountains. Experience their soothing charm, a relief from the rather dull, stressful city life.
Day:1
Reach Manali - local sightseeing - Manali stay
- Reach Manali; Hotel Check – In
- Allocation of rooms, break for freshening up.
- Gofor local sightseeing- Including Hadimba Devi temple, Mall Road and Van Vihar etc.
- Back to hotel, dinner – Music and sleepover
Day:2
Manali to Jobri. Trek to Chika. Overnight stay.
- A warm, hearty breakfast with a view and check out the hotel.
- Later we will check out the hotel and head towards Jobri around 9 AM, which is the starting point of the trek.
- The drive is scenic and 2 hours long (22km).
- The initial trek is through the pine forest until wereach the Rani river valley. The forest route lasts for around one hour and we arrive on an open green We descend and take the route going through the valley. The further route takes 2 hours to reach the Chika campsite. The entire trail is flat and mild uphill.
- Later, enjoy the sunset at the campsite.
- Dinner and overnight stay in dome tents.
Day:3
Trek from Chika to Balu Ka Gera. Overnight stay
- Wakeup, get refreshed and have breakfast.
- Later we will head towards Balu Ka Gera, take the right turn along the Rani river and move through the trail.
- The initial trail is a bit steep until we reach a green The further trail is on the flat land, and we can easily notice a change in the landscape.
- We continue our walk on the same route and arrive at a point where we must cross a river stream. The size of the river stream is not so big, but the flow gets furious during the rainy season which enhances the thrill of the trek. Your feet might get numbed as the water remains frosty. The further trek is level walk, and, in another hour, we reach the campsite.
- Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day:4
Trek from Balu Ka Gera to Sheagoru via Hampta Pass. Overnight stay
- We wake up and start the trek bit early in the morning as today is the most important day of the trek. The trek is divided into two stages. The first stage consists of trekking up to the pass and the second one consists descending to the Sheagoru campsite. The trail up to the pass is full of small and big boulders and is quite steep.
- It takes around 3 hours to reach the We can have our packed lunch there.
- Later, we start descending through the sharp and steep Mind your step while coming down as the route is narrow and full of scree (loose stones).
- We reach the Sheagoru campsite by late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day:5
Trek Sheagoru to Chattru. Drive to Chandratal. Overnight stay in Chattru.
- Today’s trek is the easiest of all as we have to descend all the way to Chattru. We start by crossing the icy cold Sheagoru river and continue the trek on the right side of the After about one hour, we start seeing the road. It takes around 3 hours to reach Chattru. Relax and have lunch at the Chattru campsite.
- Then we start our drive towards the Chandratal lake if the weather remains good. The drive from Chattru to Chandratal is around 4-5 hours long. The condition of the roads are too bad.
- Reach Chandratal also called Moon Lake and enjoy the beauty of its clear blue Spend some time.
- Drive back to Chattru campsite.
- Dinner and sleepover.
Day:6
Drive from Chattru to Manali. Depart for Delhi.
- Wakeup, have breakfast and get ready for your journey back to Manali via Atal Tunnel.
- Later we will depart for Delhi and reach next day.
Day:4
Reach Delhi

- Befikre Hikers and its team prohibits the consumptionof Narcotics and banned Substances while on tours and will not bear any responsibility for adversities arising due to the same;
- Rightsare reserved by the organisers to evict traveller(s), anytime, without a refund, if they engage in activities that violate the rules of the trip, or misbehave with fellow travellers;
- Befikre Hikers will not be responsible for the safety ofthe customers if they’re outside the camp premises, kindly be mindful of the same;
- Lossof camping equipment such as tents, pillows, mattresses, and any item belonging to the campsite will be subject to payment as per the product’s MRP;
- Befikre Hikers won’t be responsible for the loss of anddamage caused to personal belongings of the travellers;
- The use of Weapons, Fireworks and Toxic Substancesis not allowed by the team and the Company won’t be responsible for anyone found guilty of having done the same under the Indian law;
- All guests are to carry a valid ID card, issued by theGovernment;
- Only those staying with Befikre Hikers will be allowedto the camp site and if any of our customers wish to bring guests on the trip, they are to notify us of the same in advance;
- Availabilityof hot water isn’t guaranteed;
- Bookingsonce made cannot be cancelled, refunded or exchanged;
- Trip organisers and coordinators have the right tochange the itinerary on the spot, if the situation demands so;
- BefikreHikers will not be held accountable for delays caused by traffic, sightseeing and/or activities may get cancelled if we’re unable to reach the destination on time;
- Booking slots will be confirmed only once the fullpayment has been received;
- In the event of any delay caused by the breakdownof transport enroute, the passengers will have to wait until its repair; there will be no provision of a back – up for the same;
- Befikre Hikers will not be responsible for delays andalterations in the schedule, or for indirectly incurred expenses resulting from natural hazards, accidents, weather conditions, political closures or any untoward incident;

CANCELLATION POLICY
- Cancellation within 10 days will attract 50% of the applied rate as retention.
- Cancellationwithin 7 days will attract 80% of the applied rate as retention.
- Cancellation within 5 days will not be refundable and full 100% shall be applied as retention.
- Bookings for blackout dates (Diwali,Christmas, New year…etc) will bear no refund once
- If the journey is cancelled due guidelines by the Govt. during the COVID-19 Period, a credit note will be provided for the complete amount, and they can choose any preferable date within 120 days.
